How much does it cost to hire a skip?

When can you collect the skip?
When your skip is ready to be removed from your premises, contact us on 03300 535 535 to arrange a collection.
Do you use any third party skip companies?
On occasion, there may be times where our skips are unavailable. In these instances we may use a preferred third party partner. All of our partners have been fully audited to ensure that they are compliant and have the same credentials as Biffa to ensure peace of mind that you’ll be receiving the highest standard.
Will the driver contact me when they are on their way?
Yes, either a member of the Skoup customer service desk or the driver will contact you by your preferred method of communication (usually phone or email) to confirm the driver is on their way.Can I book a specific time slot for skip delivery and collection?
Currently, specific time slots cannot be selected for skip deliveries or collections. You can request an AM or PM delivery and inform us if there are any times that we will not be able to access your property. We will do our best to accommodate your requirements.Can I order skip permits with Skoup?
It’s easy to order a skip permit while booking your skip hire. Tick the necessary box on our order form and we’ll do the rest. Where can the skip be placed?
Skips need to be placed in an accessible location, such as a driveway or public highway. A skip permit may be required for public roads at an additional cost. To make things more convenient, we can arrange permits on your behalf, simply request your permit at the time of booking.
There are a large number of places where Skips can be placed. That being said, our skips cannot be placed on:
- Public footpaths or grass verges
- Soft or uneven ground
- Utility access points

What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel your skip hire at any time without charge. We do request you call our customer service team on 03300 535 535 at least 24 hours before delivery is due to begin. You will receive a complete refund unless work has commenced in which case the full fee paid will be retained. Please refer to our terms and conditions for further information.
Does all my waste go to landfill?
Skoup has access to Biffa’s full range of recycling and recovery facilities to process as much material as possible for recycling, including Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). Wherever possible, rubbish is diverted from landfill either via recycling facilities or waste to energy alternatives.
Can I book multiple skips or services?
Currently, you can only book one skip per online transaction, but we are working towards adding this feature. To book multiple services online, you would need to make separate bookings for each service. Is there a discount for booking multiple skips?
For skips larger than our 12 yard container or if you require multiple skip hire, please contact our helpful customer service team on 03300 535 535 who can arrange the best value service for your waste collection needs.
Do I need to put my rubbish into bags?
One of the great things when you order a skip from Skoup is the versatility of what we can take. Waste can be loaded into our skips loose or bagged.
Where can I fill my skip to?
Our skips can be filled up to the level load line only. To ensure safe transport you will be asked to remove any excess waste over the fill line prior to collection. The use of "greedy boards" (boards or similar used to increase the side height of the skip) are not permitted as part of our service.
Overweight skip
Our skips do have a weight limit, which is why we ask that soil is not placed in the skip. The weight limit is in place to make the skips safe to transport whilst full. If your skip is overweight and has been filled with soil, we will ask you to remove the excess weight of waste prior to collection.
How far in advance can I book a skip?
You can book one of our 6 yard, 8 yard or 12 yard skips for delivery online up to three months in advance. For a collection that surpasses this time, please contact our customer service team on 03300 535 535.
Do you offer same day skip hire?
You cannot book a skip hire for the same day online. Our next available date online would be the next working day, providing orders are received by noon the day before. If you require urgent skip hire, please call our customer service team on 03300 535 535 and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
How much is it to hire a skip for a week? Is there a discount for weekly skip hire?
If you require a skip for an extended amount of time, contact our helpful customer service desk on 03300 535 535 who can offer exclusive weekly rates.
What can and can’t you put in a skip?
You can’t put hazardous or harmful items into a skip such as knives, gas canisters, solvent paint tins, tyres or WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). If you require disposal of these items, a van collection may be a more suitable alternative. If you're not sure about what you can and cannot put in your skip call us on 03300 535 535.
Can I use a skip for my garden waste?
You can use skips for some green waste such as plants and shrubs but skips are not suitable for soil or compost. The reason for this is due to weight limits on what is safe to transport away again.
Can a skip be lifted over a fence or wall?
Due to our safety procedures, we will require clear and safe access to the skip’s placement location. Therefore we cannot place a skip over a fence or a wall. If there is no clear access to the property a skip can be placed on the road, this may require a permit and other additional fees which need to be arranged before delivery. The skip is being put on my neighbour’s property, do they have to place the order?
You can order a skip to be placed on a neighbour’s property or shared driveway as long as you have the express permission of the owner or occupant of the home. Both the person hiring the skip and the property owner needs to be present upon delivery of the skip.
How long can you hire a skip for?
Our skips can be collected a minimum of 48 hours after you contact our team for removal. Our skips can be in use for up to 2 weeks before collection should be arranged. Additional charges may apply if the skip is retained for longer than 2 weeks.
Can a skip be transported to another location if it isn’t full?
Due to rules and regulations for waste disposal, the skip container must remain at the delivery address until we collect it. We cannot transfer partially full skips to another site.

What is the smallest skip you can hire?
The smallest skip size we can offer at the moment is 4 cubic yards (3.05m3). We have other three sizes of skips available. Those three different sizes of skip are mini (small – 6 yard), midi (medium – 8 yard), and maxi (large – 12 yard).
